Before Butterfly
Natalie worked in nonprofit and local government supporting the disability community. Sam worked with several local small businesses after retiring from 21 years of military service in 2021.

Natalie and Sam Smith have called Manassas home for over a decade. Natalie dedicated her career to supporting individuals with disabilities through roles in the nonprofit and local government sectors. Sam served over 21 years in the military before retiring in 2021. Together, they bring a depth of experience few business owners can offer: real compassion, real accountability, and a genuine commitment to the people they serve.

In October 2025, they launched Butterfly Home Care of Manassas — not as a career pivot, but as a natural next step for two people who have always led by putting others first.


What drives them every day

Six months into their journey with Butterfly, Natalie and Sam are already discovering how many dimensions there are to building a business rooted in care. At every step, they’ve had the opportunity to grow their knowledge and confidence as new business owners — supported by the Butterfly team and a wider network of people who believe deeply in what this brand stands for.

Their goal: to become the most trusted home care provider in the Manassas area — known for responding to the expanding needs of individuals who want to live their best lives, staying happy and safe at home, with a person-centered mindset at the heart of every decision.
